Hi Michele,
I was feeling pretty lousy when coming off chemo. I don't know if it was because I was coming off the meds or PMS-ing. lol It feels like hormones kicking in. I think my husband was happy when I wasn't getting my cycles because he said my moods were good. ha! Go figure out that one! Anyway, today I feel better... I was upset because I didn't do the BC walk on Sunday. I had a nasty sore throat, I was extremely tired..but that's not the whole reason I didn't go. The weather here was terrible. It was cold, raining and windy to boot. I didn't want to risk a secondary infection so I decided not to go. There will be other walks and I will have the opportunity to do them. So...
I saw my breast surgeon on Monday and he's taking the port out on Monday. yes....so happy about that. He said not to do the mammo until after radiation. hmmm is that right? My friend had hers after chemo and before radiation..I dunno, going to ask again. He feels I have scar tissue in my breast and nothing to worry about. I would rather have the mammo.
I have to go, I'm having another mugga today, this will be my third. You know why? My onc told me 3 women out of 100 developed heart problems when on the Avastin and chemotherapy..at the same time. He told me he took me off of the Avastin because of that fact but I remember him telling me he was taking me off of it because of my elevated blood pressure. I am sure of that. But, that's what he said. But the odds are in favor of no problems but just to be sure, another test. Oy..
Radiation consult tomorrow but it's not the facility I wanted..all because of insurance. I hope I like the place, otherwise I will be heading back to the Bronx, commuting everyday to get the rads. At least I know they have the latest equipment there, a brand spanking new building and most importantly, brand new machines. Do you think I should just skip the consult in Flushing and just go to the Bronx? My hubby says yes..
Ok, got to run, I'll write soon..thank you all for your well wishes, you guys are awesome..
Hi Indi girl, Gina, Kristin, and all of you other great women!! You make the world a better place xoxoxo Jen __________________ A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions. - Oliver Wendell Holmes |

Jen, Re: rads--I would go to the place with the newest machines. You don't want to have a cancellation/interruption just when you're getting near the end...plus the accuracy factor.
I felt bad Sun, too that I didn't get to participate (the Shore weather was downright blustery and dangerous...). I think I felt worse that I didn't get my free survivor sash and T shirt lol!!!
Wishing you smooth sailing through rads, love, the "other" Janeen
