I got my headlights yesterday and boy are they big - at least what I could tell from my periferal vision since I was afraid to look! The whole experience was anxiety provoking to say the least. I probably should have asked some questions...I knew nothing about the saudering - yuck!
My butt got a really good workout as it was flexed for the entire 2 hours, I think I will need to get some good filling put in my teeth that were clenched and thank goodness Maria, my favorite NP, and the doctor kept reminding me to breath! Of course I kept opening my eyes at the wrong moments.."if you are going to look now would not be the time" direct quote from my PS.
All in all it was not bad though and ...I feel good that I did it!! I did it before Oct. 6th. That was my goal and I did it. Bye, bye crappy year and hello rest of my life. Looking forward to growing old - of course my nips will see everything first as I think they stick out past my eyeballs (okay they really aren't that big :-))

Thanks Calico and Gina! They have settled down quite a bit and look quite nice if I do say so myself. |

Congratulations, CHRISSIE! Big step into a new beginning, accomplished! All I've ever heard about reconstruction and PS, is it's painful. Is there a trick to being awake during surgical procedures? Twilight Sleep didn't work for me, and truthfully, the anticipation, stress, and being awake are not in my agenda. I didn't have any PS, and don't know much about it; the "tumor board" told me it was not something I would or should ever have due to the high risk grade and radiation...they said NEVER. I didn't cry, being a coward when it comes to surgical procedures...end of story. You deserve perfection, a perfect future, and a big blue ribbon! (for BRAVE, BEAUTIFUL, BRIGHT, BRILLIANT, BEST...) Love, Indi |

Congrats Chrissie it s a wonderful thing to sto get headlights. I was amazed as to how it changed the new breast. I believe they shrink by up to 70%. I had mine done several years ago and had no problems what so ever. |

Thanks everyone! I went for my follow-up with my PS today. All is good with the nips. I really love them. They have settled down quite a bit - phew. I am scheduled for tatooing Dec 8th. Wish I did not have to wait so long but looking forward to it. Certainly the procedure will not be quite as scary as when I got the nips! |
